Gosport fire crews were called to an incident after receiving numerous calls from residents reporting a severe fire in the roof of a property in Gosport on the night of Sunday 21st April 2013.

Fire crews entered the property to extinguish the fire and made sure no one was in the property. Nobody was hurt during the fire and all persons were accounted for however the property suffered 100% roof damage and the first floor suffered 90% damaged by the fire. A neighboring house was also affected and damaged due to the intensity of the fire. 

Crews attended from Gosport and Fareham, plus support from Cosham and Portchester and the aerial ladder platform from Redbridge. The fire was under control quickly and 8 BA wearers, 2 jets and 3 hosereels were used to extinguish the fire.

 Watch Manager Steve Bint from White Watch, Gosport, said:

 “On arrival, the crews were met with a severe property fire, which we were able to get under control and minimise the damage that could have happened to the adjacent properties and all crews worked extremely hard to achieve this.”

 The cause of this incident is under investigation and an inspection will be carried out today.
