An investigation has been launched to find out how a fire started at a homeless hostel in Fareham.

A fire in the stairwell of the hostel was fought by 14 fire fighters and 1 officer from Fareham and Portchester fire Stations. They were sent to the property in Gosport Road at approximately 1.35am on the 8th January 2014. One person had to be rescued after he slept through the sound of the fire alarm.
