Protect Your Workplace against Fire | Uni-Guard Fire Protection

What are your responsibilities as a responsible person according to the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005?

Running a business is a lot of work but part of that work is ensuring you, as the responsible person, are aware of your fire safety duties and how to protect the people on your premises.

In short the responsible person must ensure the safety of employees and other relevant persons on and near your premises by managing:

  • Fire safety policies and procedures
  • Fire risk assessment
  • Fire drills and regular checks
  • Means of escape
  • Fire Alarms and Emergency Lighting
  • Fire Doors and Compartments
  • Fire Extinguishers and Signs
  • Maintenance of fire protection and procedures

The responsible person has a considerable duty and if you are the responsible person it is essential that you take your responsibility seriously as you will be liable if you are not following correct procedures.

We would advise reading the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 as this document provides valuable information on what being a ‘responsible person’ means and what is required from that person.

How can we help?

As a fully accredited fire protection company we offer a number of services to help you keep your company and staff protected from fire.

Free Surveys

We offer free* surveys of your premises which means we can come to your premises and look at what extinguishers, signage, alarm system etc you have in place and can advise if it is up to standard. This is NOT the same as a fire risk assessment which everyone needs to have but allows you to see if your fire protection is up to standard. This is ideal if you are moving premises or are unsure if your fire protection is up to the current legislation.

Fire Extinguishers

Fire Alarms

Emergency Lights

Fire Training

Fire Risk Assessments

Fire Escape Signs

Fire Accessories

PAT Testing

Even if the service you require isn’t listed please feel free to contact us as we may know people that can help and point you in the right direction. As an established company we know many industry experts so even if we don’t offer what you are looking for we may still be able to help.

*Free surveys are dependent on your premises location
