Dear Customer,

In light of recent announcements from the government and because of the seriousness of the current situation regarding Coronavirus (Covid-19) we feel it is necessary to make the incredibly difficult decision to suspend all pre-planned maintenance visits, weekly tests and other non-urgent works for the foreseeable future.

We have made this decision based on the government guidance and to ensure the safety of our engineers, who usually visit multiple sites on a daily basis and will come into contact with a large number of people throughout the day. The government has told employers that they have a duty to ensure employees are 2m apart from other people (social distancing) and after review we are not able to provide this guarantee on every job so feel it is our responsibility to suspend the above visits.

We do however recognise that we have a responsibility to ensure our customers premises are compliant with fire safety regulations and that their fire equipment is maintained and in working order, so we will be responding to urgent call outs and if customers specifically request for us to carry out works we will work with you to make sure you are not left uncovered in your fire protection needs providing it is safe to do so for our staff and the works come under the governments guidance of ‘essential travel’.

We do advise all of our customers who have a service due soon or are overdue for a service to contact their insurers and H&S advisors to make sure their buildings are covered in the event of a fire. We are aiming to contact customers who have an upcoming service in the next month so they can put provisions in place.

The Uni-Guard office is closed but staff members are working from home so please feel free to call us on 023 9247 0711 and you will get the contact numbers of the staff members you need to call. Or if you prefer please email sales@uni-guard.co.uk

At this present time, we want our engineers, staff and customers to feel safe and to follow government guidance so that we can help reduce the spread and (everything crossed) help end this crisis quickly. We hope you understand that this decision is not one we have taken lightly. As a small family business, we always want to help as many customers as possible but as we’re sure you understand these unprecedented times have called for drastic actions to keep everybody safe.

We hope you are staying safe, keep smiling and we look forward to working with you again soon.

Best regards,

Carol and Alan Wilcox (Director)
