Can you from any final exit quickly let everyone in the building know there is a fire? If not then you need a fire detection system/alarm. You will establish if you need a fire alarm from your risk assessment and we are always happy to come to your premises and talk through your fire alarm options.

According to BS5839 pt 1:2002 your fire alarms should be serviced by a qualified technician at least every six months. You could be breaking the law if you do not do this. It is also your responsibility to routinely check the alarm system (this is usually once a week) and record the results in your log book.
